Augusto Bergamo is a name on the rise in the world of digital marketing, especially within the healthcare sector. With a career marked by challenges and achievements, Bergamo reflects on his journey and emphasizes the vital role of social media in the digital positioning of healthcare professionals.
From a young age, communication played a central role in Augusto's life. “I used to produce school plays, writing scripts and acting,” he recalls. His passion for audiovisual media and journalism led him to work with major brands, such as Nestlé Grego and Burger King. “It was during journalism school that I truly understood the vast scope of communication,” Bergamo shares. After specializing in film and TV direction, he found fertile ground for his creativity in social media.
Transitioning to the digital world wasn’t easy. “Without a doubt, the lack of financial resources was one of the biggest challenges,” he reveals. Armed only with an old laptop, Bergamo began by gradually producing organic content and establishing key connections. “My impact grew once I realized I was truly changing the reality for these professionals,” he explains.
His approach to offering not just posts but also personalized mentoring was a turning point. One success story Bergamo is proud to share is with Daniela Rissato, founder of one of Brazil’s largest e-commerce platforms. “I planned and executed Daniela’s digital presence, using her profile as a sales funnel for her women’s clothing website,” he explains. In the medical-hospital sector, he highlights the work with Drs. Julieta and Ana Corbett, whose careers were transformed through strategic mentoring. “Today, Dr. Ana Corbett is the scientific director of one of the largest companies in the medical-hospital industry,” he notes.
For Bergamo, social media is essential for the digital positioning of healthcare professionals. “Professionals with digital authority hold the power of choice, potentially earning more through various business ventures beyond their medical practice,” he asserts. He points out that a lack of strong digital presence can lead to lost opportunities and diminished quality of life.
Bergamo’s background in journalism and film/TV has been crucial to his work as a digital strategist. “Anyone can create content with captions and graphics, but extracting the essence of a person and helping them convey their best through gestures, voice tone, gaze, setting, and themes is something few can achieve,” he observes. This sensitivity in video communication is, according to him, the “cherry on top” that distinguishes his work.
Recently, Bergamo founded a training institution for doctors, located in a prime area of São Paulo. “Our facilities are carefully selected to provide an inspiring and conducive learning environment,” he describes. The institution offers an exceptional educational experience, combining comfort, state-of-the-art technology, and a welcoming atmosphere.
Looking ahead, Bergamo has ambitious goals. “I want to help more people, to unlock their potential on a larger scale. I need to bring my lessons to a broader audience through lectures, TV programs, podcasts, and by training more professionals,” he states. For him, the key to building a strong and authentic digital presence lies in “refining not only the digital aspects but also the core pillars in establishing a practice,” he concluded.
