Today, Hooks Visit traveled to Pomerode, a municipality in the state of Santa Catarina, Brazil. We had the opportunity to visit this incredibly special chalet, which instantly immerses us in an atmosphere of harmony and revitalization.
Amid the lush landscape of Pomerode—a city known for its strong German influence and welcoming atmosphere, and named Best Tourist Destination in Brazil in 2024 by the portal Melhores Destinos—lies a unique retreat for those seeking peace and a deep connection with nature.
This charming chalet takes your breath away the moment you arrive. The sounds of nature—sheep, horses, geese, and birds singing—make you think, "Oh my God, I want to live here!"
Unlike conventional accommodations, this chalet was designed to offer a complete immersion in nature. With rustic architecture and meticulously planned details (I mean meticulously!), the space combines comfort, simplicity, and sophistication.
Large windows allow natural light to flood the interiors, offering guests a panoramic view of the surrounding nature and wildlife, creating a seamless connection between indoors and outdoors. The well-equipped kitchen makes the desire to cook ever-present.
Not to mention the heated pool, right next to the fireplace, with the most breathtaking view you can imagine!

1. Without a doubt, the D’Alma Nature Chalet is truly an immersion in nature and tranquility. What is the story behind this special place? Who are the creators, and how did all this magic begin?
D’Alma Nature & Refuge was born from our desire to create experiences that touch the soul. We are a couple passionate about travel, always seeking places that leave a unique mark on us. From this passion, D’Alma Nature & Refuge came to life— a space designed to offer a deep connection with nature, where every detail was crafted with love and intention.
The chalet, in particular, embodies this essence: a surreal retreat that blends rustic charm with modern comfort, ensuring a luxurious yet deeply connected experience with nature.
2. What makes the experience of staying in a chalet in nature so special compared to other types of accommodations?
The experience of staying in a chalet in nature is special because it provides something that is often lacking in everyday life: time and connection. Here, our guests can slow down, breathe fresh air, listen to the sound of birds, and feel the energy of nature around them. Unlike conventional hotels, where the experience can be more impersonal, at D'Alma, everything is designed so that each stay is unique and memorable, with an energy that welcomes and transforms.
3. I noticed that every detail was specially planned to offer more than just a stay, but rather an experience. How was the chalet designed to provide comfort without losing the connection to nature?
The D'Alma Chalet was designed to offer maximum comfort without losing its natural essence. We used materials that respect and harmonize with the environment, creating a space that blends rustic charm with modernity. Every element was carefully thought out to provide an authentic experience: large windows that bring nature indoors, cozy lighting, and handmade details, ensuring our guests feel welcomed and in harmony with their surroundings.
4. For those looking to experience this for the first time, what tips would you give to make the most of the stay?
For those visiting D’Alma for the first time, our tip is: surrender to the experience! Put your phone aside, take the time to walk barefoot, observe the starry sky, and feel the energy of the place. Every corner has been designed to provide moments of peace and connection, so allow yourself to fully immerse in nature and your own soul.
5. I found it amazing that you transformed trees, which were already in the space, into beautiful and elegant lamps. How did this idea come about?
The idea of transforming the trees that were already on the site into lamps came from our respect and love for nature. Instead of simply removing the wood, we wanted to give it a new life, bringing its story into the chalet in a unique and elegant way. This way, each piece carries the energy and history of the space itself, further strengthening the connection between the building and the surrounding nature.
6. And last but not least: What would you like to shout to the world if you had the opportunity?
If we had the opportunity to shout something to the world, it would be:
“Live experiences that touch your soul!” D'Alma Nature & Refuge was born from this desire, to provide moments that stay in your memory and heart. More than just a place to stay, we want to be a refuge for those looking to reconnect with themselves, with the people they love, and with nature. D'Alma Nature & Refuge currently offers two experiences: D'Alma Chalet, a unique, surreal chalet full of energy, where our guests can retreat to immerse themselves and connect with people, soul, and nature; and D'Alma Sítio, a rural home proposal for a nature-filled experience with family and friends, far from the commitments of daily life and the hustle and bustle of the city. Two different proposals, but both with the same principle: to provide our guests with experiences from our soul to theirs.
Our next experience currently under construction will be D'Alma Bus! An old American-style bus that is being renovated to provide yet another unique experience for those staying at D'Alma Nature & Refuge!
It will be positioned at the top of the hill and will feature all the amenities to create another unforgettable experience, with all the essence that D'Alma aims to provide!
