In 2024, Dr. Luciana Dias celebrates 34 years at the helm of Transduson Advanced Diagnostic Medicine, a comprehensive and advanced diagnostics center in Greater São Paulo, offering high standards in quality, technology, and personalized care since its inception. However, this work, which today earns recognition and accolades, could only become a reality thanks to the doctor's determination from a young age.
Originally from Ituverava, in the interior of São Paulo, Dr. Luciana recalls that she knew from a very young age which profession she would choose. She remembers, “when my mother asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up, she always received the same answer: a doctor!”
A student of public schools throughout her childhood, Luciana Dias began to stand out in her teenage years. At just 13 years old, she won the Mathematics Olympiad at FAAP. In her senior year of high school, she earned a scholarship to the prestigious Oswaldo Cruz School, which paved the way for higher education at some of the most renowned institutions in the country.
Dr. Luciana Dias graduated as a physician from FAMERP, the State Faculty of Medicine of São José do Rio Preto, subsequently completing her residency at Santa Casa de São Paulo and the Hospital das Clínicas of FMUSP. She also earned a doctorate from USP in radiology and specialized in Fine-Needle Aspiration Biopsy of Ovarian Cysts Guided by Ultrasound (FNAB).
But beyond being a doctor, Dr. Luciana knew she needed to be an entrepreneur. The major achievement came with the creation of Transduson, in partnership with her husband, Dr. Miguel José Francisco.
The first unit, in Carapicuíba, opened in 1990 and soon became a reference by offering reliable diagnostics at affordable prices, always with the well-being of the population in mind. "Our goal has always been to care for people, not just diagnose diseases," she says. The laboratory also offers constant technological innovation and continuous education for its employees, providing them with a sense of belonging, support, and a vision for the future.
Doctor, entrepreneur, woman, and mother, Dr. Luciana Dias stands out as a leader of Transduson, exemplifying female representation and contributing to the promotion of health and social equality. She also plays an important role in the professional development of her team and the socio-economic growth of the region. She is an inspiration to her niece, Dr. Ana Luiza Rodrigues, and her son, Lucas Dias Rodrigues Francisco, who is also a medical student.
Dr. Luciana's work has earned her numerous accolades, including the "Hands and Minds that Shine" award and an honor from the Legislative Assembly of São Paulo for her contributions to women's health by UNACCAM.
Due to its excellence, the laboratory obtained the international ISO 9001 certification, which attests to good management practices, and accreditation by ONA, in recognition primarily of its concern for patient safety. Transduson also became a member of the select group of laboratories of ABRAMED, is a "show site" for Samsung and Pixeon, and has the best ultrasound equipment available in Brazil.
Over the years, Transduson has expanded, also opening a unit in Alphaville, which offers the same state-of-the-art technology and quality of care as the headquarters, but with a focus on the female public, the Transduson Women's Unit. Dr. Luciana says she has a strong personal identification with the places where she operates, which reinforces partnerships with the region and patients. The doctor has already received the title of Carapicuíba citizen. "I represent the women of the region for over 30 years," she says.
