After winning the title of Miss São Paulo 2024, model and influencer Milla Vieira is living a new chapter in her journey. Driven by love, she moved to Canada, where she plans to establish both her professional and personal base. "I’m getting married this year, and my fiancé is Canadian. During the Miss competition, right before Miss Brazil, I came here to meet his family and fell in love. From that point, I started working on making this my base," Milla reveals.
Her experience as Miss sparked an adventurous and determined spirit in her, driving her personal growth. "The Miss competition awakened a part of me that was asleep, you know?! The part of me that takes risks, that is always seeking to learn. I’ve never studied so much in my life as I did during the Miss competition. I took classes in communication, runway, public speaking, English, and Spanish," she shares.
New Life, New Challenges
Adapting to the new country has brought significant moments, such as her first photoshoot in the snow. "It was beautiful! Walking on, touching, and feeling the snow was a childhood dream of mine. Making another country my permanent base is something new for me. I’ve lived abroad for over 10 years, but never permanently. I was always moving every 3 to 6 months to attend fashion weeks. Now it’s different. The snow is as symbolic for me as a blank page," she reflects.
Regarding the challenges of the move, Milla faces everything with enthusiasm. "The biggest challenge is opening up and allowing yourself to embrace the new. And I’ve always been in search of the new. Besides, I’ve been very well received here in Canada. I already feel at home!" she states.
Career Expansion and New Projects
Moving to Canada also represents an expansion of opportunities for her career in fashion and entertainment. With agents in New York and Miami, and Toronto being an important hub in the industry, Milla sees possibilities for international growth. Still, she maintains strong ties to Brazil. "Whenever possible, I will work in Brazil. In April, I have some jobs scheduled, including the campaign for my brand, which I want to photograph there," she reveals.
For the model, exploring new cultures and languages is essential for her personal and professional growth. "For me, it’s vital. We grow with challenges, with differences. Each encounter, each person I meet teaches me something. Next week, I have a wedding in India, and I can’t wait. It will be my first time there, and I’m sure it will be one of the most enriching experiences of my life!" she shares.
Milla is also in the final stages of creating her clothing and accessories brand, which will have a strong Brazilian identity. "The pieces, for the most part, are handmade and carry the essence of our Brazil. I can’t wait to share it! It’s beautiful! And the best part is that the project extends globally. Today, with the internet and good logistics, we can embrace the world!" she concludes.
