In this special edition of Hooks Magazine, Patricia Dias shines on the cover as a symbol of authenticity and versatility. Balancing her time between fashion and preparing for a career in aviation, Patricia embodies the perfect union of creativity and discipline—two forces that define her journey and inspire her vision for the future.
For Patricia, fashion is more than just aesthetics; it’s a means of self-expression that has always been part of her life. Whether she’s walking the runway, shooting campaigns, or designing, she turns each project into an extension of her personality. This passion for the fashion world connects in a surprising way with her journey in aviation, which has brought valuable lessons in focus, organization, and the beauty of functionality.
For Patricia, traveling is far more than just a change of scenery. Each destination she visits offers a fresh perspective on style and culture, enriching her creativity. Switzerland, with its minimalist elegance; Paris, with its timeless essence; and vibrant Ibiza, which inspired her to dare and explore new forms of expression, are just a few examples of how the world shapes her approach to fashion.
Looking ahead, Patricia envisions fashion and aviation as complementary forces. Her dream is to use each destination not just as a stopover, but as a stage to capture stories and translate cultures into unique creations. To her, fashion is a global language that connects people and celebrates the authenticity of every individual.
Check out the interview with Patricia:
1: How do you balance your passion for fashion, runway shows, and photography with your preparation for a career in aviation?
I’ve always believed in finding balance between the things I love. While fashion is an integral part of who I am, my preparation for aviation has been teaching me focus, discipline, and organization. Fashion gives me the freedom to create and express my personality, while aviation represents a new journey of growth and structure. Even with the intense study routine, I make time to connect with my creativity by participating in projects, photographing, and walking the runway. This duality between fashion and aviation keeps my life dynamic.
2: What drew you to the world of aviation, and how does this preparation influence your perspective on fashion and style?
What attracts me most to aviation is the opportunity to explore different cultures and meet people from all over the world. Even during this preparation phase, I’ve noticed how elegant and inspiring this universe is. Aviation combines sophistication with functionality, which aligns perfectly with fashion. It makes me think more about how to merge style and practicality in my daily life.
3: What are the challenges and similarities you find in navigating these two very different but equally fascinating worlds?
The biggest challenge is balancing expectations. Fashion demands creativity and spontaneity, while aviation is deeply focused on discipline and safety.
However, both share the need to convey confidence and authenticity. In fashion, it’s essential to have a strong personality to stand out, and I believe the same applies to aviation. Being true to yourself while adhering to standards and maintaining professionalism makes all the difference. The feeling of reinventing yourself and always being ready for new challenges is something that connects both worlds.
4: How do your travels impact your creativity and inspiration for fashion work? Has any destination left a particular mark on you?
Traveling gives me a fresh perspective on everything. Each destination has its own rhythm, style, and culture, which end up inspiring me. For instance, being in Switzerland taught me to appreciate minimalism and sophistication, while places like Paris connect me with the classic essence of fashion.
Ibiza, in particular, was a destination that truly transformed how I see fashion. The island's creative atmosphere and the freedom with which people express themselves motivated me to take more risks, experiment with bold combinations, and step out of my comfort zone. It’s a place where fashion feels like art, and everyone seems to tell their own story through what they wear. That experience taught me to value originality even more and seek new ways of expression in my personal style and the fashion projects I take part in.
5: How do you see the relationship between personal style and uniforms in aviation? Is it possible to incorporate your personality while wearing something so standardized?
Yes, it’s absolutely possible! Uniforms provide a solid foundation that represents the company’s identity, but small details can still express individuality. It could be a unique hairstyle, a lipstick shade that complements the uniform, or even the way you carry yourself with posture and a smile. In aviation, I’ve learned to be creative within established standards, which is something I also apply to fashion.
6: What are your future goals in both fashion and aviation, and how do you imagine combining these two passions in your life?
I want to build a solid career, whether it’s with an international airline or piloting planes. I see aviation as a bridge to explore the world and create meaningful connections with different cultures, where every destination becomes an opportunity for photoshoots. My vision is to use each location to capture its local essence and blend it with my passion for fashion, creating and collaborating with brands worldwide. I dream of uniting travel, style, and art into a unique and global narrative.
