Under the creative direction of Anthony Vaccarello, Saint Laurent presents Love Letters, a new Saint Laurent Editions book that delves into the intimate nature of personal correspondence.
Love letters are deeply private exchanges — fragments of longing, devotion, and desire shared between two people. The project explores the power of words, their urgency, and the emotions they evoke when read.
The book serves as the foundation of this exploration, featuring a printed QR code that leads readers to a platform where selected letters come to life through voice.
Charlotte Gainsbourg reads the letters of Victoria Woolf to Vita Sackville-West, while Vassili Schneider brings to life the correspondence between Mozart and his wife Vienna, as well as poet Arthur Rimbaud and Paul Verlaine.
The videos that complete the project, directed by Mitch Ryan, visually interpret the intimacy and sense of closeness of love letters, capturing their emotional depth. Featuring Zoë Kravitz, Rosé, and Cooper Koch, the films bring to light the words of Sid Vicious to Nancy Spungen, Oscar Wilde to Lord Alfred Douglas, and Leo Tolstoy to Valeria Arsenev.
To extend this narrative beyond the page, Saint Laurent offers a selection of pieces celebrating love, including a vinyl featuring Metronomy’s Love Letters, remixed by Enfant Sauvage, alongside two readings by Rosé.
Select stores — Saint Laurent Rive Droite in Los Angeles, Saint Laurent Babylone in Paris, the flagship in Seoul, and the Meatpacking store in New York—will also feature phone booths where visitors can listen to love letters being read aloud.
At its core, Love Letters is an intimate reflection on connection, longing, and the unspoken emotions carried within words meant for just one other person.
